In the book, the author details the fundamental issues around self-worth, social maladjustment, and the paradoxical feelings of guilt and complicity experienced by most child victims. It appears 50 years after the incidents took place.

In understandable language and writing in the first person, the author truthfully reveals the routes of escape available to victims. He encourages them to make use of them. The content is harrowing but caters for the people who need the first-hand information.

In respect to readers who will benefit from the narrative, the author has intentionally used a measure of naivety in his writing, and has avoided profanities. The book will be of benefit to professional healthcare and childcare practitioners, all of which have direct contact with abused and molested children. Sensitive readers may be negatively affected.
