Mary Bains-Fort

Mary Bains-Fort, Ph.D. is the executive director of NewLife Community Development Consulting. She along with her husband Bishop W.D. Fort, are the founders of NewLife Community Development Consulting, Inc., NewLife Family Worship Center, and NewLife Ministries and Services.  Dr. Mary, is a two time graduate of CaliforniaStateUniversity, Hayward, earning a Bachelor’s of Arts in Liberal Studies - Music Option, a Master’s of Science in Educational Psychology – Marriage, Family and Children Counseling Option. Her Masters Thesis consists of a video compilation and review/assessment of several African-American, Asian-American, Latino and Pacific Islander teen community programs, throughout California,  which addressed at-risk teen behaviors as well as community solutions to address such issues. Mary Bains-Fort earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from KingsfieldUniversity. She is additionally a graduate of the Community Development Institute and Packard Foundation sponsored Professional Development  Consultants for Communities of Color (PDC) Training Program 2001. Dr. Mary, as she is known, is the former long time cable T.V. host of “How To Get Your Groove Back” a California, Bay Area television life strategy, live call–in advice program for adults and teens. She is the author of several children’s books. It's Keen To Be Green!, How High Can A Kite Fly?, "Good Night Mr. Moon", Said The Spoon", and Bumpy And The Golden Pond . Additonally, she has written about several self-help topics.  She is respected for community awareness and activism contributions throughout the Bay Area.
