Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I was educated in nursing, but stayed home to raise my children. That
gave me some freedom to pursue various interests which have made me who I am. I
have enjoyed studying homeopathy, art and interior design, all informally.
These things have made life enjoyable, each in their own way. I enjoyed period
books and movies since I first opened Charles Dickens in school.
Describe your book ‘The Companion of Lady
Holmeshire’ in 30 words or less.
Emma was a servant
girl who became companion to a countess. She was dragged along into snobbish
society and rejected. Sweet romance, mystery and humor mix, and a surprise
ending
What was the hardest part of
writing your book?
I was too excited
about it to sleep! I kept wanting to get up and write.
What
books have had the greatest influence on you?
Anything Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and many resource books.
Briefly share with us what you do to market your
book?
Besides BookBuzzr,
I do giveaways, I tweet as @kescah, use Facebook, I started a Goodreads group
and a multi-author historical blog.
How do you spend your time when you are not writing?
Wishing I could
write, but caring for a disabled friend and my family, reading and researching.
What are you working on next?
The working title is For the Skylark- a Regency era story about the twin son
and daughter of a reclusive woman, whom I modeled after Dickens' Miss Havisham.
While my first book is a Jane Austen-style happy story, this one is a
psychological drama
