Karen C. Silverstein

Enter into a world of imagination. Karen C. Silverstein is a Dream healer, author and artist.  She is part of a group of Dreamers that work with ones dreams to heal body, mind and soul.  Karen's images can come from a night time dream or a daydream. Bringing these into waking life, she then transfers the dream images into writing or onto canvas or paper, with brush, paint and pen.  Karen has been a Dreamer all her life and has a dream healing practice, working with private clients as well as conducting monthly dream circles.  She also leads workshops using Dream themes.

Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am an author and artist and I write and paint what comes to me through my dreams.  I hold ‘dream circles’ and dream workshops to help people to understand and be in touch with their dreams.
I am a gardener and love the outdoors.  I reside with my husband in the Hudson Valley of NY. And part of the year we travel to Paris, FR., to our apartment there. We like to travel around Europe from Paris.  Paris always provides inspiration for me.

2. Describe your book ‘Journey of an Apprentice Dreamer: Behold the Keeper's Practice’ in 30 words or less.

The book is composed of powerful and mystical stories, which help to interpret dreams.  The reader is guided by the ‘Apprentice’ who encounters various ‘Seers’ in her journey to understand dreaming.  A seer is a person, real or imagined who possesses intuitive powers.  The Seers in the book are the Keepers of Dream knowledge.  They are the ‘Tarot Trump Seers’, the
‘Animal Seers’ and the ‘Tree Seers’.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

For me the freehand writing was fine.  The technical computer, transcribing and editing was very hard.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

Herman Hesse ,  ‘Siddartha’;  Marion Zimmer Bradley, ‘Mists of Avalon’;  Dion Fortunes books.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

I have listed myself on many social media sites, like yours as well as on Facebook.  In addition I am working with a publicist and have been able to book many radio talk shows and some appearances.  Also submitted to many newspapers and magazines for reviews.  I have gotten a good review from Kirkus Reviews and others.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

Networking with family and friends.  Traveling around Europe.  Walking and enjoying the outdoors.

7. What are you working on next?

I would like to set up an art gallery show, with the paintings that are illustrated in my book, ‘Journey of an Apprentice Dreamer’!
