Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I have always been creative in one way or another. I've enjoyed a career in Hairdressing and Cosmetology and equally enjoyed sharing that time with my clients, many of whom have grown to be dear friends. I am absolutely wild about my three children and devote a good deal of my time to nurturing our relationships as well as encouraging them to achieve their goals. My two daughters compete in Gymnastics, a sport I have grown to be very enthusiastic about. My son is involved in Basketball, Baseball and TaeKwonDo, so I definitely understand how much pressure kids can put on themselves.
In Addition, I still believe in treating others the way you would like to be treated and having a healthy respect for the gifts we've each been given. I think life is for celebrating and we are all works in progress.

2. Describe your book ‘Surviving Curtis Hall:The Lure of Blood’ in 30 words or less.

The dramatic story of Tristen, Sasha, and Billy; lifelong friends exposed to all the normal stresses of high school  with supernatural characters sprinkled in for good measure.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

In my opinion, the hardest part of writing the book is, by far, the marketing of the book.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

Anything and everything written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, The original Dracula, The Harry Potter series & The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

I do a lot of experimentation with online resources and I'm working with a wonderful Editor and Marketing Consultant at BookBozo.com. I've also entered my book at various trade shows in combined book exhibits to get the word out to book stores as well as Libraries.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

Generally, my free time is spent raising my three children and helping them to realize their aspirations in life while encouraging them to keep dreaming big.
I also like to steel a little "me time" for creative projects and gardening which I find very relaxing.

7. What are you working on next?

I am currently working on two other novels. The first is a sequel to Surviving Curtis Hall, which will continue the adventures of Tristen, Billy and Sasha while also giving Tristen and Marcella's romance a bit more time in the limelight. Readers will also have an opportunity to discover more about her evil brother Pietro.
In addition, I’m working on another YA novel, more of a dystopian society story, my version of what becomes of the U.S. after we discover the cure for cancer and are forced to deal with the issues of overpopulation and starvation. This story also unfolds in a finishing school setting.
