1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am a retired clergyman, but was also a classroom teacher for ten years before entering church life.
2. Describe your book Edith in 30 words or less.
'Edith' is a fictional development of actual historical events and real people. The central character Edith was born Jewish, and went on to become a philosopher, martyr and saint of the Catholic church.
3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hard part was to make sure that the 'fictional' element was still a true reflection of the historical reality it was based on.
4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?
I read many serious books on theology and philosophy. For recreational reading I enjoy Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) and Jane Austin (Pride & Prejudice).
5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?
For my previous book 'The Uncommon Philosopher' (heavy going!), I scanned a large number of email addresses from published directories of clergy and sent notices directly to interested individuals.
For the present book (much lighter!), I will be relying strongly on BookBuzzr tools. I have my own blog where I make use of Bookbuzzr's flipper technology.
6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?
I am still active in my profession, and do 'supply' work for hard pressed colleagues. I enjoy computing as a hobby and am a 'Linux' enthusiast, but am far from having attained true 'Geek' status - (I hugely admire the skills of BookBuzzr technical staff who do wonders with HTML coding).
7. What are you working on next?
I am tempted to do another 'faction' type novel where the central character is a pioneering scientist, Nobel prize winner, and a superbly enlightened human being. (still reading around on all of that).
