1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm a single mom living in Massachusetts. By day I am a PCA (Personal Care Assistant). I specialize in the home care of quadriplegics. By night I'm a novelist. I was born here in MA, but I was raised in Northern Maine. I love animals and my greatest hobbies are gardening and landscaping.
2. Describe your book Hostage in 30 words or less.
Hostage is a paranormal romance with a pinch of horror and a touch of adventure. It will make you thirsty then make you sick. Take care if you read this book.
3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part of writing this book was figuring out how to end it. Like most of my stories, I wish they were never ending. Unfortunately, I have one life to live and many stories to write. I changed the ending to it so many times I got confused about where I truly wanted to go with the story which in turn made me go back and start over......twice.
4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?
When I was growing up I entered a stage of darkness which I got through with anothers tortured soul lighting my way. The lantern was held by Edgar Allen Poe. After reading as many of his books as my library had, I then moved onto Stephen King who I swore I could top as the master of horror (some day). After doing a monthly book report on his book, Gerald's Game, my teacher insisted I move onto college level assignments......*sheesh* ;)
5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?
I must admit, I'm not the savviest of marketers. I honestly don't do much in that respect. I've used book tours with Orangeberry a couple of times. Apart from that I mostly use social media and of course I email most of my local newspapers and TV stations to get the word out. If anyone out there has any suggestions on what else I can do, I'm open to ideas. :)
6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?
When I'm not writing I'm usually working. Otherwise I'm all over the place. As a mother, my work never ends. I go biking, hiking, driving, gardening, shopping, visiting and so on. I try to stay active as much as I can. Oh, and I LOVE to clean. I know, that's strange, but it's true.
7. What are you working on next?
My next novel is a Thriller/Mystery about tag team serial killers who suddenly aren't seeing eye to eye when one of the killers bans the murder of a specific lady. This restriction puts an unexpected strain on their partnership which gets them into the biggest, nastiest chain of murders that their small town in Northern Maine had ever seen. It's expected to release in early 2015.
