1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
A little about me. . . Let's see. . . am I the only one who feels awkward when talking about themselves? As a mother of two beautiful daughters, my life is filled with the typical joys and angst of raising strong, independent, women. I always consider myself a mother first, then a writer and last an artist and poet. I've been writing now for thirteen years, three of those full time.
2. Describe your book Irin (The Last Scribe Prequels Book 1) in 30 words or less.
When his flame-haired partner disappears after a brutal beating, the immortal Irin enforcer known as Riley Storm sets out to bring her back.
3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
I think with any serious writer, the development of the story is hard. The Last Scribe Series started out as an idea that took years of work-shopping it with other writers and writing groups before it became what it is today. However, I will say this first prequel was one of my favorites to write. Everyone loves Riley.
4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?
The book that have had the most influence on me are the ones that really made me think and had emotional depth. I love characters that grow over time and truly reflect the human condition. In the interest of brevity, my most recent favorites are the His Fair Assassin Trilogy by Robin LeFevers and the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah Maas.
5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?
At this time I'm still building up an audience. I have Facebook, of course, Twitter and a website. You can find me here:
www.thelastscribe.com.
6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?
I have two daughters, two dogs, a kamikaze cat and a grandfather with advanced Alzheimer's. When I'm not writing I'm directing traffic, wrangling the laundry, working in my garden and of course, reading, reading, reading. I love my life and my family. I couldn't do what I do without them.
7. What are you working on next?
Ah, well, there are ten parts in The Last Scribe Series, so I have my work cut out for me. However, I've also been developing a spin off series about a special group of people who have the power to raise the dead.
