Phillipa Martin

I write the Sophie Anderson series - fast-paced police/FBI procedurals with lots of profiling and forensics. My books have been described as similar to Kathy Reichs, Karin Slaughter, Patricia Cornwell's earlier books and James Patterson - with a hint of TV's Medium and lots of Criminal Minds.

I live in Melbourne, Australia, and developed a passion for crime fiction and storytelling at an early age. This interest was backed up through a Bachelor of Behavioural Sciences (with majors in psychology and criminology) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Writing (Creative Writing). I also hold a black sash from the Australian Tiger and Crane Kung Fu School, however I haven't studied kung fu for about three years now - naughty me. And in case you're wondering, PD Martin stands for Phillipa Deanne Martin.

So far I've written five novels featuring Aussie FBI profiler Sophie Anderson. Body Count, The Murderers' Club, Fan Mail and The Killing Hands have all received glowing reviews in Australia and overseas. Book 5, Kiss of Death, is out now in Australia and New Zealand and will be available in North America in August 2010.
