Lauri Owen

Lauri Owen is a civil rights lawyer who has written, published and
presented her share of nonfiction, but she is brand new to the fiction world.

Lauri, who grew up in Idaho's Treasure Valley, started reading fantasy novels in the third grade, and other than taking time out to sleep, has never really stopped. The oldest child of a homemaker and a police officer, Lauri worked for more than a decade herself in law enforcement. But Lauri’s not-so-secret passion is social justice, and in 2002 she decided to become a lawyer.

After completing U.C., Berkeley’s law school, Lauri moved to the
Alaska Bush, where she fell in love with the magic and majesty that exemplifies her new home state. She was selected in 2007 for inclusion in the “Who’s Who of American Women” directory in part for her commitment to civil rights, and she now lives in metro Alaska with her elementary school-aged son and her many rescued cat companions.

A slice of trivia about Lauri: she loves ancient warfare, (old and new) weapons, and warriors of all types.
