Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I have never wanted to do anything other that write, wrote a story for the school magazine in my teens - a teacher said I ought to think about writing (he probably meant journalism) I have had a couple of radio plays produced, JIGSAW LOVERS is my only novel.  Always took a job which gave me time to write.

2. Describe your book JIGSAW LOVERS in 30 words or less.

JIGSAW is the aftermath of the Swinging 60's, the hollowness left by that vacuous decade, where stable relationships flounder.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Didn't honestly find difficulty - looked forward to the hours when I could work on the book.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

The work of F.Scott Fitzgerald - TENDER IS THE NIGHT especially, it resonates emotionally.  But, also, all the work of William Burroughs.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

To do 'giveaways' on FREADO and GOODREADS. Also, Apex Reviews for (hopefully) the US market.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

To read.  Also, a great interest in film - Pulp Fiction, Death in Venice - but also documentary.

7. What are you working on next?

A radio play - and if I can interest an agent a script of JIGSAW.
