1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a wife and mother of three boys. I was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I have a Masters Degree in Actuarial Science and Insurance. My days are filled with working with a non profit that provides homes for the homeless and near homeless. When I'm not there I am very involved in the Parent Teacher Organizations at my sons schools (three different schools). The rest of the time I spending cooking, baking and thinking up new ideas for books.

2. Describe your book The Great Compost Heap in 30 words or less.

In The Great Compost Heap the student is introduced to the idea of composting and how composting helps to further the idea of the 3 R's, "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle".

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The hardest part of writing the book was making sure I have all the scientific components explained in a way that a 5 year old could understand.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

I can't pinpoint any one book as my greatest influence, every time I read a book I take a bit with me and use whether in my everyday life or in my writing.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

I have been using social media a lot namely Facebook. I also reached out to schools and several other groups that deal with recycling.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

I do a lot of reading and I try new recipes and develop new recipes.

7. What are you working on next?

I am completing the third book in the "series" of cookbooks. I have two cookbooks published - "Jamaica's Forgotten Treats" - a dessert cookbook in  and "Memba When -The Jamaican cookbook that takes you on a trip down memory lane" both available on Amazon. I am so pleased and excited about The Great Compost Heap, that I am also working on another children's book.
