There are also traditional publishers with money to throw at this technology, such as those that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.appleinsider.com\/articles\/10\/03\/04\/penguin_books_bets_big_on_ipad_interactive_content.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Penguin<\/em> demonstrated last year<\/a> for <em>Apple&#8217;s iBook Store<\/em> for <em>iPad<\/em>. The flow has been hot \u2018n heavy for a few years now.<\/p>\n<p>In <em>Penguin<\/em>\u2019s video demonstration their first efforts included those projects most readily lending themselves to interactivity: a children\u2019s book, medical book visually examining the human body as you spin organs with your finger, an app bringing together a vampire community and a travel eBook where you can book reservations right from its pages. And of course gaming is streamed in as many projects as possible.<\/p>\n<p><em>Spark<\/em> creates <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aQRycPE29_M\" target=\"_blank\">interactive homework helpers<\/a> for teenagers which they describe as \u201cNot just a book in electronic form but a unique combination of sound, image and video, animated classical literature, an audio-visual dictionary with pronunciations, games and songs\u201d and much more.<\/p>\n<p>These are all truly exciting, but very high dollar projects. What about your book and mine? I used to think creating this kind of platform is far beyond the average writer like me, and yesterday it was. But there are new companies starting (or expanding) all the time to bring this interactivity to every writer. Just Google something like \u201cinteractive eBook\u201d to see the prevalence.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4359\" style=\"margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 5px;\" title=\"Aggie Cover\" src=\"https:\/\/bookbuzzr.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Aggie-Cover-150-dpi-218x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"153\" height=\"210\" \/>I\u2019m in production right now of an interactive how-to eBook, <em>Amazon Categories Create Best Sellers<\/em>, using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entrywaypublishing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Entry Way Publishing<\/em><\/a>. Owner Victoria Freudiger is working closely with me as I create instructional and introductory videos and audios that will be viewed right on the page.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll have links to ongoing contests available to readers only, discussion pages, bonus pages, contact forms directly from reader to me, embedded code where readers can share anything in the book to <em>Twitter<\/em> and <em>Facebook<\/em> or to email it to themselves or friends. For the <em>Kindle<\/em> version functions include highlight sharing and text to speech capabilities, and for both <em>Kindle<\/em> and <em>Apple<\/em>, bookmarks, notes and highlighting.<\/p>\n<p><em>Entry Way Publishing<\/em> is creating it in <em>Kindle<\/em> format first, followed by an app downloadable to <em>iPhone<\/em>, <em>iTouch<\/em> and <em>iPad<\/em>. To save me money they are also converting the book to several more electronic versions that I can place anywhere online myself.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just for the biggies anymore.
