Description

The story is about a typical boy that becomes a great runner. The setting is 1984 to 1988. As a young boy, Danny is inspired by the 1984 Olympics. He begins a journey (into competitive running) that changes his life. Along the way, he also grows into a young man, developing character as well as foot-speed.

The story is told in retrospect, beginning with the 1988 Olympic Trials. This is a 'must read' for budding athletes. . .Enjoy.

I can truly say the material this book contains represents a love of my life - running. I have lived running for 38 years of my life, so far. I started when I was 17. Sometimes it was a major part of my life. Sometimes, like now, I just jog daily. If you are a runner or running enthusiast, I believe you will truly relate to this book and love it. If not, maybe it can persuade you to consider some form of running in your life. The book will make you laugh. I will make you cry. But most of all, it will inspire you.

My son, Bryan, shared my enthusiasm for running. We toured the American South together racing, until he grew up. We competed in hundreds of road races, together. Along the way, I even competed in three weightlifting and two bodybuilding contests.

Although the characters are fictional, there are many events taken from my actual experiences. Please turn the page and read Danny's story. Do you relate? Were you like him, his girlfriend, his best friend, or one of the other characters? Would you like to be?
