Description

An entertaining book of our first year together with our rescued wonderdog, Bandit.  Weighing in at almost 150 pounds, and living in the house with us, and three cats, we wanted to make sure Bandit was properly exercised, so we walk together every day!  Everyday we had a story of some new adventure we shared, or a new friend that we made, and we decided we had a story to tell.  I say "we," because Bandit shares his viewpoint in each chapter of the book.  That makes the book a true story, but somewhat of a fantasy, too!  You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you chuckle to yourself, and you'll want to share some of the antics that you read.  Most of all, you'll fall in love with our Big Black Dog, Bandit.  You'll also learn about a phenomenon call The Big Black Dog Syndrome, which is ultimately the message we want our readers to take away from reading our book.

During the process of writing the book, we learned of The Big Black Dog Syndrome, which is a phenomenon that is rampant in our shelters. Large, and dark colored breeds of dogs are not being adopted, and consequently being put down, or facing life in a cage. Our goal is that you will fall in love with Bandit, our Big Black Dog, and consider rescuing and adopting a Big Black Dog from a shelter. Bandit also talks in each chapter. Midway through, you'll see a black pawprint, and in a different font, Bandit gives his version of the chapter's events. It's easy reading, and fun to share with children, or just to enjoy by yourself. Each chapter is self-contained, and if you happen to put the book down, and down get back to it for a few weeks, you won't lose the gist of the story! Bandit truly is a wonderdog, and we hope you'll fall in love with him! Proceeds from book sales will help fund Bandit's foundation, which will rescue, adopt, train dogs, and pair them with veterans with PTSD. Bandit is currently in training for Therapy Service, and will be a big help to his owner, who is a Vietnam Veteran diagnosed with PTSD.
