Description

In a twist of poems and essays, the author takes you through a personal journey of life’s teachings, and focuses on the primary aspect towards everyone’s survival:  Love!  Love is the foundation that all should build upon in order to make this world a grander environment.  And while it seems that we as a community have taken for granted the freedoms given to us, so it would seem that we are responsible for the direction our life within, and our life within our community precede.  For, as the author describes, it’s up to us to blend together with one another and place our focus upon what lies before us in order to improve the status of this world…is it not?

EXCERPT: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to examine your life from the eyes of another? If you answered yes to this question, then you are not alone. Many of us seek to view our life under the scope of scrutiny; yet, nothing can ever be as difficult to absorb as the opinion of another's views as to whom you really are. While most of us cannot seem to conquer the thought that true happiness does exist, we instead wobble in our own state of self-absorbedness by constantly trying to define our lives based off others opinions. When in reality, it's our own sense of self-worth that should determine whom we truly are within, regardless of how shallow that sense may be.

A must read, that will change your life.

It's a wonderful thing when an author who has experienced so many challenges at a young age, wants to change his life for the better. Posted January 15, 2010, 10:45 PM EST: I have found "Tears That Bleed" by William James Hiatt to be one of the best inspirational books I have read in a long time. The author alternates between poetry and prose in this collection of writings designed to share his own personal story, with a view to helping others to deal with overcoming the challenges of life. I find it quite remarkable that the author seemed willing to retrace the sometimes painful steps of his own journey in order to write a book that may help others. I enjoyed the way he staggered the arrangement of poetry and prose; this made the book a good, smooth read, and hard to put down. His prose was packed with imagery, and very powerful analogy, and meant to be read slowly and digested, and this appears in relatively short sections, alternating with poems, and as such, the power of his message is never lost; the reader is able to digest the sections of prose, as he or she goes on to read the poetry that follows, and ties it all together. And then the process repeats with another alternating set. Very rarely have I read a book of encouragement that is as effective as Mr. Hiatt's in causing the reader to pause often and truly THINK, evaluating one's own life experience in light of the author's, be able to identify in one's own way, and actually get chills as the well-chosen words hit home. Mr. Hiatt's book also has a very honest tone; he does not come across as a know-it-all who is conceding to share his answers with the rest of us; but rather, as a humble fellow seeker, still searching for answers, meaning and joy like the rest of us, and suggesting at least a path to walk, leading to a better way of living and surviving, which he has been lucky enough to stumble upon and wants to share. Overall, I found this book to be outstanding, well-written, creative, imaginative, and a must-have for the bookshelf of any person who wakes in the morning, fearing that the day will be a struggle. Buy this book, read it from cover to cover, and mark your favorite passages, because they will, indeed, do what Mr. Hiatt intended, and remind you of ways to get through life, and through the day! I just can't stress it enough. Buy Mr. Hiatt's book, and you will be glad that you did. He has a truly powerful message to share, and you WILL be moved.
