A young girl wanders from her colony and three days later she is found, near death, by a gentle forest dwelling people and renamed Nu-Del, young Laura struggles to adapt to the ways of her new people. While Sel, her new mother, teaches her trade to Nu-Del, Cordac, her new father, continues to disapprove of taking this strange creature into his band.
