Today's Truth continues the story of how a close group of friends deal with the pain that only the deception of a loved one can inflict. The death of David, Jr. has rendered Jada unable to move on with her life. She wonders if going on with her life is disrespectful to the memory of her husband... until she finds out that her marriage may not have been as sacred as she thought. Benjamin, now home from a seven year jail sentence, wants to know if there is any chance that he and newly married Toni still have a love connection. Vince is forced to deal with the betrayal of his wife Gina while learning that he will experience an unexpected change more drastic than he ever imagined. David Sr. is used to protecting his flesh and blood at all costs, but what happens when he can no longer control the outpour of evidence proving his prior heinous actions? This was the second novel penned by Terri D. I was astounded as I read how deeply the characters' relationships were tied together. As the story unfolded, the plot got more interesting with multiple twists. I love how there is a main storyline, yet each character has their own subplot which made the book even more of an intense read. I was especially able to feel Jada's emotions when she finally lets her feelings known to all. This title makes you question what you would and wouldn't do to protect a dear friend regardless of the looming repercussions. The end left me hanging to the point that I contacted the author to request a third installment! There were a few phrases here and there that I thought were repetitious and issues with typesetting. In spite of these small items, I am definitely looking forward to future titles from Terri D. I can't wait to find out what happens next with these friends! 4.5 stars<div> </div><div>Today's Truth is the sophomore effort from award winning author Terri D. This story picks right up where it left off and you will be engrossed from the very beginning. Today's Truth opens with friends Jada,Benjamin,Vince and Toni dealing with the death of David Jr and just like Yesterday's Lies you are immediately drawn into this groups drama and scandalous secrets. The title is very fitting and there was a lot of discovery going on and secrets brought to life. I found the storyline was carefully executed and with the authors perfect combination of suspense and we can't forget drama that made Today's Truth a very easy read and being a sequel I was curious about more about the characters because I had not read the previous story but that didn't take away anything for me as the reader. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and eagerly await to see if there is another sequel in the works some there is so much drama that two would be just be am injustice to me in my opinion and I'm sure readers of this book will too agree.
