Snarly elves are my specialty. My scattered reviews consider, my take on elves different, even though conflict over magic is a cornerstone of their existence. The general tone of the reviews? As a stripling Renna watched Mariah's attempts to discourage Gorsfeld's wooing. After the Rebellion was won, Gorsfeld sets his sight on his neighbor. Not only does she control powerful magic, but she holds the lands where the two great mountain rivers join to form the River Soleis that runs through his lands down to the seaport he controls. Renna also appears in my Far Isles Half-Elven work in process, Dark Solstice Turning Point, as an old lady400 years later when Mariah appears not much older than a stripling. Renna is one of the few who has the courage to treat the even more powerful Mariah as an equal.
