About
Snarly elves are my specialty. My scattered reviews consider, my take on elves different, even though conflict over magic is a cornerstone of their existence. The general tone of the reviews? My Half-Elven stories are fast-paced, thrilling, exciting, and engaging with strong characters. Yeah, I do the fantasy writer thing, mostly in the world of the Far Isle Half-Elven, a hybrid elf/human population that survived genocide by religious fanatics. Description
<p>"I am strong, and my flash is bright, And I will defend you and make things all right." These are the magic words to call upon Manner-Man - a superhero who can help control bullies and teach children ways to be considerate of others. Manner-Man arrives, shouting "To the Rescue", helping children learn about sharing and warning about not 'hitting with words.' He teaches that if someone starts pushing, just shout out "not nice!" Meet the children who form the Manner-Man team and find out how to join! Manner-Man incorporates messages and characters found within some of Cannon's earlier books - helping children learn how to cope with bullies and look within themselves for their inner superhero! This is the fifth rhyming children's book by this award-winning author whose other bestselling books include Gimme-Jimmy, The Magic Word, Peter and the Whimper-Whineys and Santa's Birthday Gift. Former teacher Sherrill S. Cannon has won a dozen awards for her four previous rhyming books and is also the author of six published and internationally performed plays for elementary school children. She has been called "a modern day Dr.Seuss" - GMTA Review. Publisher's website: http://sbpra.com/SherrillSCannon</p>
Story Behind The Book
You really want the back story?
As a stripling Renna watched Mariah's attempts to discourage Gorsfeld's wooing. After the Rebellion was won, Gorsfeld sets his sight on his neighbor. Not only does she control powerful magic, but she holds the lands where the two great mountain rivers join to form the River Soleis that runs through his lands down to the seaport he controls. [The Foiling of Gorsfeld, a short story found on my website.]
Renna also appears in my Far Isles Half-Elven work in process, Dark Solstice Turning Point, as an old lady400 years later when Mariah appears not much older than a stripling. Renna is one of the few who has the courage to treat the even more powerful Mariah as an equal.
I just had to tell more of her story.
