Leilani Anastasia is a passionate Self-Help Author. Recently, she authored the “Warrior” series. In this compelling series, Leilani takes a witty approach to helping partners of Combat Veterans navigate the many obstacles that arise in a PTSD relationship.

She also has an interest in other dynamics of the male/female relationship and will write about them as she finds topics of interest. However, her favorite books that she writes are the "Warrior" series because she feels that they are a way to give back to the Military community for their service. 

When she isn’t writing, Leilani Anastasia loves cooking healthy (but still delicious) meals. Avidly interested in all things fitness, she also strives to lead an active lifestyle daily. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism

I thought the last book was amazing, and again Leilani surpasses my wildest expectations. I laughed, I cried and I honestly felt she was talking directly to me. I too am co-dependent, as I grew up with an alcoholic father, and admitting you're part of the problem (in current relationships) is a tough pill to swallow. The book does an excellent job of tackeling every part of addiction and why it's important in every relationship, but especially with combat vets, to seek help for the both of you - neither should feel as if they're alone and admitting fault and moving on to healing is so important. Gosh, I want her to write a novel - so much of her personal life was a part of this and I felt the struggle and the heartbreak in her writing. This is tough to do and I applaud her for being upfront and honest. Did the combat veteran develop addiction as a result of traumatic experiences? Were they genetically predisposed to addiction? Or is it some combination of factors? This book looks at the myriad possibilities that can lead to addiction in combat veterans. Most importantly, the author of this book addresses the ways &quot;warrior lovers&quot;--a terms she uses to refer to the spouses and partners of combat veterans--can better understand the problem and confront it in the most effective way.<br /><br /> The book has an extensive section on recognizing the signs of addiction, some of which might go unrecognized if the warrior lover does not know what to look for in their combat veteran partner. There are a number of signs that can signal problems with addiction, but if one has no understanding of these, they can sometimes be dismissed for other, more easy to accept explanations such as lack of sleep, stress, normal moodiness, etc. This is probably the most important section of the book, in that it educates the reader on how to recognize addiction indicators that could mean the difference between life and death.<br /><br /> Combat veterans commit suicide every day, to the tune of an average of around twenty per day. Other vets also die from substance abuse problems, which as the author points out, may be a form of suicide that doesn't involve a firearm or other direct and immediate method. For the warrior lovers out there, learning how to recognize addiction and taking steps to combat it, may be the most important thing that can ever be done.<br /><br /> Leilani Anastasia's book will help anyone who is in a relationship with a combat veteran and may be confronting potential problems with addiction and codependency.
