Story Behind The Book

An American astronaut named Ariel Wolfe is working near the International Space Station when he is bombarded by a huge coronal mass ejection (giant flare) of the sun. Expecting his death, something else happened. Ariel's mind floats faster than light reaching a distant planet similar to Earth, where his mind is downloaded into an alien body. He finds himself in a society that has similar values to America, except for one. They have been fighting a mysterious enemy on the other side of the planet for many centuries. So much time has passed that the two sides no longer understand why the war started. They hate the enemy but no longer know why. Ariel joins the air force, like he did on Earth. He is a formidable fighter pilot. On a sortee over a jungle filled with terrifying monsters, Ariel and his wing mate are shot down. They must face the horrific monsters in a place where no one has ever survived. Read the book to find out what happens to Ariel.
