Story Behind The Book

Coyote is based on the centuries- old Navajo legend of Ma'ii, also known as Coyote Man . Ma'ii was a paranormal entity well-respected by the Navajo tribes, despite his cunning and devious nature. The analog of Ma'ii was said to be the Raven, hence, the main character's first name. Ma'ii was rumored to possess the ability to shift into various forms.
