About

Nicknamed “Ruyi”, Mr. Uwuigiaren was born and grew up in Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria, Africa. As a young adult, he attended school for Mass Communications. Ruyi quickly realized his talent for the arts including singing in a soul music group, playing the key board/piano, drawing cartoons, and writing children’s books. He published cartoons Mr. Bony and Dulljack with Vanguard Media Limited and children’s books The Adventures of Nihu with Bouncing Ball Books (USA), The Mystery of Taiwo Da Silva with Black Books Nigeria, Giant in a Hut with Learnrite, Little Okon and the Outside World with Apex, and Empire of the Wicked with Pekan Ven Publishers. While continuing his artistic expression professionally, Ruyi currently lives in his hometown where he writes for children in his authentic African style.
