About

I'm known on the internet as banana_the_poet aka Michele Brenton. 


I was born in Swansea, Wales and lived for 3 years on the Greek island of Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea.

I prefer to write short snappy pieces whether serious or quirky.

My main influences have been Hilaire Belloc, Spike Milligan, Ronnie Barker and Shakespeare.  I have tried hard not to be influenced by Dylan Thomas as we already have far too much in common for it not to be a bit Twilight Zone-ish...

Story Behind The Book

Some poems from a Pink edition some from a Yellow edition (Alternative Poetry Books ) stuff them together with a few new poems and hey presto we have a Pi (nk) (ye)llow book! Happy Holidays from Banana the Poet!
