A stunning autobiography of one man’s emotional roller-coaster journey through life.
Be grateful you haven’t lived his life... Be inspired by what he achieved!
The first line in his book starts with the words... “I knew from the very beginning that I was neither loved nor wanted”
This is Bill’s shockingly honest true story of a boy born into a humble family on the west coast of Scotland where he recounts the highs and lows, the struggles and just as importantly, his hard won triumphs.
This life changing story offers a unique glimpse into another world leading us from from a loveless, abusive childhood, where he grew up a dyslexic (without his knowledge)dunce leaving home at 15 trying to find the freedom that he spent most of his life fighting for.
(If you compare your life to other peoples and want to have more gratitude in your life, then this is the autobiography to get you there)!
After a stint in a gospel church at 14 where he felt loved for the first time in his life, albeit by God he also discovered girls in a way that he had only fantasised about. But he was torn apart by the guilt in his head through the teachings of the bible that conflicted with his boyhood feelings much lower down.
Then on to Edinburgh for a year before going back to the west coast of Scotland where he became the runner up junior Mr Scotland while squatting in an empty garage, with only some cardboard between him and the cold grey concrete floor to rest his prize physique on at night.
And little did he know that he was about to lose sight of the good guy.
A couple of years further on and weight training gyms and nutritious food had no part to play in the lives of the angels from the bike gangs that he was running with, and it didn’t take long for this all or nothing grog to descend into a life that seemed to be habitually on the edge of chaos.
Having to run from the Scottish police with the aid of his angel buddies, though there was no God in their past, he started his new life with nothing but a few pounds in his pocket and borrowed clothes to share a squat with a drug dealer in London.
His fighting hands broken again within a couple of weeks squatting in London, he was running across the Camden roofs to escape the police swearing at himself, if that’s the best that you can f****ing do to start a new life then you’d better think of a easier way, and quick!
(This is an autobiography that’s sure to inspire even the most cynical depressive)
Hard though he tried to build a new life he was competing with his in-built destructive behaviour, which was fuelled by his on-board saboteur and addictive emotions that would make Johnny Cash look like one of Peters disciples. Motorbikes, drugs, alcohol, many jails and broken relationships were the life of this young man who was still confusing love by the kinkiness of the sex. But at least he was enjoying this part!
Talking about all of this is one thing but living it is a different story....
(After reading this autobiography it would be impossible not to feel better about your own life)
On the run from the police for many many years and without any sort of a role model, how he actually managed to achieve anything in his dysfunctional life, let alone be able to narrate his own words with such humour and witticism is beyond me....
(This life story was not written by an intellectual scholar. This is a book written by a dyslexic dunce where you can almost feel his softly spoken Scottish voice coming through the pages into your hands and into your heart)
When you’re not wiping away your tears, or gasping, oh no! he’s never going to do that is he? You’ll be laughing out loud at his Scottish wit and observations in life.
Bill is very open and honest about his own faults and failings as he takes you on a personal journey, laying bare his soul without a shred of blame or resentment for anyone else
Anger, creativity, addictions, competitive sports, spirituality, self-loathing, intuition, fighter, musician, depression, songwriter, respected, worthless bum are words that you wouldn’t normally expect to describe one human being, but this is the complex nature of a story of one man being brought to his knees and over the edge many many times.
But maybe, just maybe, some tiny part of him never stopped believing that he would find the freedom that he so craved.
Eventually though it was only a matter of time before something had to break.
What had happened to this sensitive kid who ended up on a one man self destruct mission whose greatest dream was chasing that all elusive freedom, only to hold it briefly in his fingertips before throwing it away again.
With the male prison officers gloved finger searching inside his arse before throwing him in a solitary prison cell, he was about to discover a new low.
If you want to find your way out of low self-esteem and worthlessness , then this truly remarkable life story was written for you)!
