Story Behind The Book

He plasmado la sorna asturiana de Jaime Menéndez &quot;El Chato&quot;. Para ello se me ocurrió contar la historia como si fuese él, inventando un &quot;Más allá&quot;. Formó parte de la generción del 27. Conoció a personajes de la talla -bueno, talla, talla... alguno no la daba- de Dolores Ibárruri, María Teresa León, Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti, Ernest Hemingway o Joseph Paul Goebbels. Esta historia es un fiel reflejo de la realidad. Jaime Menéndez nació en Sobrerriva, Cornellana, Salas, en 1901. Con 18 años emigró a Cuba. En 1925, ya en Nueva York, se convirtió en el primer español en formar parte de la prestigiosa redacción del &quot;New York Times&quot;, primero como redactor de deportes y posteriormente como experto en política internacional. En 1932, ya en Madrid, escribió en las publicaciones más relevantes. Llegó a dirigir el diario &quot;El Sol&quot; en 1938... Fue hecho prisionero -al finalizar la guerra-, en el campo de concentración de Los Almendros (Alicante), por luchar por la legalidad vigente exclusivamente con su pluma. Anduvo cinco años por diferentes centros penitenciarios... Fue el primero en escribir de todo aquello que el franquismo prohibió; libertad, socialismo, críticas al régimen,... Y lo hizo desde el diario &quot;España&quot; de Tánger... y mucho más... Sobre el autor: Nacido en Madrid, en 1968, y de origen asturiano. Estudió en el Liceo Francés de Madrid. Subcampeón de Madrid de culturismo y finalista del campeonato de España IFBB. Entrenador personal diplomado. Dirige el gimnasio madrileño www.deformanatural.es . Escribe en diferentes medios: &quot;La Nueva España&quot;, &quot;Marruecosdigital&quot;, &quot;LaRepublica.es&quot;, &quot;ElPais.com&quot;, &quot;CadenaSer.com&quot;,... y ha colaborado en el libro &quot;Museo de la Defensa de Madrid&quot;. Es el fundador y presidente de la Agencia Febus, fundada, en 2008, para recuperar a intelectuales, escritores y periodistas de la 2ª República, Guerra Civil y Franquismo.
