Story Behind The Book

My father was a police-officer and never showed any emotions whatsoever, he was Mr. Ice-cold himself. My mother was hyper emotional bordering to hysteria sometimes, she was also the prototype of someone born to be a victim and a master in making you feel guilty for being born. In this confusing world, I was desperately fighting for approval, respect, appreciation, competing with 7 siblings. I never got it from my father and I worked hard for it. Became judo champion at the age of 8, was the best in class, finished high school cum laude and also finished my medical studies cum laude. Became world champion karate at the age of 20. Emotionally, I wanted to be as my father because he was the one I looked up to. I suppressed my emotions and felt miserable and depressed most of the time. My book Emotional Balance is the result of 20 years of research in alternative medicine to make peace with myself and learn how to love myself and not be dependent on outside approval and appreciation. I learned not to take criticism personal anymore and to speak my truth. Took many years to find the most optimum techniques. My patients were my teachers and step by step the technique of Emotional Balance was created. To repair my low self esteem was a big battle and took years of trial and error. Now I am a happy, easy going, laid back person instead of the perfectionist that would be obsessed about doing things right and anxiously ponder what others would think. I know now as a 30 years experienced holistic doctor that this is all part of our life plan. The parents we choose, friends, partners, family etc. And that my quest was a path to become a Teacher to help others find their way to inner peace and harmony. Now around Xmas time it is good to ponder on the chaos and unrest in the world as this is a mirror for what is going on inside of us. World peace begins in each one of us, we have to learn to make peace with ourselves. And once we reach what I call Stillpoint we will emanate this into the world and open the door for others to do the same. My book is a practical guideline for worldpeace inside each one of us.

Reviews

I bought this book after seeing Roy speak in public and I found it helpful and interesting. His system for self-improvement is grounded in common sense and I found his advice easy to follow. If you're prepared to do the exercises, you could see great results! By Little Lou

I have attended one of Roy's weekends and loved it. I found the book very interesting and easy to follow.
