About the Author:

Throughout his25-year career, Mike Silverman hasmaintained a singular focus on reliability. He is Founder of and ManagingPartner at Ops A La Carte, a reliability engineering consultancy that helpscustomers build end-to-end reliability into their products.

He owns and operatesHALT and HASS Labs, a reliability laboratory in Northern California that hasnow tested over 500 products. A Certified Reliability Engineer with over adozen technical papers under his belt, Mike is currently President of theSilicon Valley IEEE Reliability Society.
