About

After departing Liverpool, clutching my Ba Hons degree after threeyears of intense hard work, study and of course just the odd evening ofsocialising, I spent the next 15 years working in the voluntarysector.  I specialised in many aspects of fundraising, working andraising money for local, regional and International charities.

With the credit crunch fast approaching, I took the plunge last year tomove away from the increasing uncertainty of the charity world andbegan working for the “safe and secure” world that is the publicsector.

However, during the past five or so years, I have constantly thought ofwriting about my life’s experiences and observations, but without theconfidence or belief that I could in fact consider expressing myselfwell regardless of the fact that anyone would actually read mymaterial.

Nevertheless, at a very long and drawn out conference six months ago, Ibegan to think about what I would write about and what style I woulduse.  Half an hour later I had filled the reverse of the conferenceagenda with story concepts.

As I began to write I decided that I wanted my writing to leave a smileon people’s faces and a spring in their step for the day ahead.  Intoday’s ever increasing time constraint world, I wanted to attractthose readers on trains, tubes, buses, waiting rooms and indeed sunloungers.  To enjoy and complete the reading of one of my stories inone sitting/journey, without having to remember three or four dayslater where they were with the plot line, who was who etc and revisitearlier pages as we all do from time to time with novels.

My stories are designed to be light hearted, fun and accessible topeople of all ages – some with the understanding of perhaps of whatI’ve gone through, with others hoping that it will never happen tothem!

I have indeed yearned to be a writer these past few years, and havealready envisaged myself looking out to sea from my sunny roof topbalcony, tapping away into my lap top, my thoughts and inspirations asI enjoy the Italian hospitality on the Amalfi coast.  Indeed in mymind, I’ve already enjoyed that glistening glass of Pinot Grigio withthe villagers after a hard days writing!  Presently however I live inNorth Wales!

Writinghas always excited and mesmerised me, with books never venturing farfrom my reach.  From novels, thrillers, biographies and travel writing,I have always been captivated by a carefully crafted chapter, whichleaves you just waiting to turn the next page.  Or, when the book hasfinished, feeling almost slightly bereft and missing a good, loyalfriend

Having been inspired by far more noteworthy authorsthan myself, I nevertheless decided to share just some of myembarrassing, toe curling moments by trying to capture both the readersimagination and also take advantage of their sense of humour!
This book is designed to share and ideally provoke enjoyment and laughter!
