Kelly Komm was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia but grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. At age nine she met a local author and was smitten with the career. She has been writing ever since. She holds a diploma in Creative Writing and earned it along with a certificate of merit applauding her creative endeavours. In September2008, her debut novel Sacrifice, won Premier Book Awards Best Fantasy Novel of the Year for 2008.
