Natalie V. Whales beat the odds. As a 21-year-old, African-American college educated woman, she found and married a successful, heterosexual, African-American man.  But with that commitment came the surrendering of her identity and the revelation that her marriage was toxic to her true self. Natalie has since regained control of her life by experiencing a multitude of complex and intriguing relationships all told via text messaging.
