The Story Behind This Book
Writing Kylie's Kiss was a special blessing to me! I wanted to incorporate someone with a phobia of facial scarring, and of course have another character with facial scars. My interest in this topic came about after a happened on a website about a California therapy camp for teen girls with facial scars, deformities, or other disfigurations. The concept fascinated me, epecially after reading a few of the girls' stories. I HAD to use the concept in a book. Now...how to incorporate those things into a romance? Well, I was in the process of writing a series based around a Christian dating agency, so the opportunity was too good to pass up. Besides, who wouldn't need an angel in Kylie's situation: a girl with a phobia of facial scars, falling in love with a man who is not only in the process of founding a camp like the one I mentioned above, but also has a precious little daughter with severe facial scarring?
