The Story Behind This Book

Some of the stories in this book are based on real places in Texas and Arizona. Part of the book trailer was filmed down the actual Evergreen Road - one of the stories in the book. Most of the other stories were thought up from a dream or simply from seeing something that sparked a new idea.

Recommends it for: horror fans
Purgatory can be defined as the process of purification or temporary punishment before proceeding on to a final destination such as heaven or hell. An in between world of uncertainty and A. Lopez Jr. encapsulates that concept well in this collection of 13 sinister tales. The reader of "Purgatory" will experience the horrors of being buried alive hearing your possible rescuers and wondering if they'll make it in time, encounter a mysterious crate that may hold a portal to hell and come across various ghosts each with their own haunting back story. I particularly enjoyed this writer's use of stories within his stories. This collection is highly recommended to anyone who loves scary short stories!
