John J. Cannon successful San Francisco lawyer takes a leave of absence from the firm and buys a boat he names My GRL. He is unaware that his newly-purchased boat had already been targeted by a terrorist group. John’s first inkling of a problem is when he wakes up in the hospital where he learns he was found unconscious next to the dead body of the attractive young woman who sold him the boat in the first place. John now stands between the terrorists and the success of their mission.
The Story Behind This Book
The author's father served as a naval aviator aboard the aircraft carrier Lexington during World War II. While touring the boat, which is moored in Corpus Christi, the author had a thought. This monument to the US naval power is an easy target for anyone wanting to make a real terroristic statement since it is unprotected at its berth. After leaving the tour, he then went about putting a story together which made such a move plausible. The Lexington did serve as the inspiration for constructing the terrorist plot that unfolds in My GRL
