Hush in the Storm
Jen, a young widow floundering in the storm of mourning, whose only lifeline is her humdrum job, is tossed into a maze of deceit and intrigue by a coworker named Tom...at the request of her late husband, or so Tom says. He kidnaps her and fakes her death to keep her safe from the cartel who he thinks caused her husband's "accident." Together, they are thrust into a tempest of danger and deceit where no one is whom they claim to be. The list of people Jen can believe in keeps diminishing. Who can she trust while dodging the Feds, human traffickers and the press who've discovered she's alive? How will Jen rescue the two held-captive girls she befriends without drowning them, Tom, and herself in the waves of betrayal, especially when she's begun to suspect her husband may not be as dead as everyone thinks...
The Story Behind This Book
While recovering form surgery I thought, "What if I started a book out with 'it was a dark and stormy night."? Would it sell? Well the first scene occurs during a dark and stormy night, but it morphed into a suspense involving kidnapping, trafficking, treachery and a ray of romance. Due to its popularity (it hit in the top 3 on Amazon twice), my publisher contracted me to write a continuation, Legitimate Les, and then a third book based on one of the minor characters called Freed to Forgive.

What if everything you knew was a lie? What if the very person you trusted most was not who you thought? Lots of twists and turns, will Jen survive? Clean, no smut.

Ms. Cosgrove has told a story that unfortunately represents events that happen every day in this and other countries. This is not a happy ever after feel good story but one that will may make you look closer at others and might even bring your relationship with God a little more in focus.

Omg omg omg! What an amazing story! I literally screamed here at home by myself saying I want more!!!! Wow. This story deserved 10 stars instead of five. Five doesn't do it justice.
I don't want to give story plot away, but suffice it to say there were more plot twists that left me in a daze. What an emotional roller coaster.
I loved Jen. She was believable, and funny, and courageous.
