Second Genesis
Gerald is frozen in the 20th century and wakes 2,000 years later, to find himself a prisoner in a strange and violent world. He escapes, only to find that the outside world is a far more horrific place than he could ever have imagined. He must find a way to work with the strange and distant Hagan, to save the world from the worst environmental disaster the planet has ever known.
The Story Behind This Book
I started writing it in the 1980s and it has taken me 30 years to complete. I was inspired at the time by all the publicity surrounding cryonics - the freezing of dead bodies in the hope that at some future time they could be brought back to life and cured of their diseases. At that time, the Nordic Seed Bank began collecting and freezing seeds too. What would happen to all these frozen bodies when they were woken up at some future time, I wondered?
