Jo Royston

About

From England UK JO Royston, born J Orton grew up in the small town of Droylsden on the outskirts of the city of Manchester.

Age 13, when embarking upon a project assigned to me by my English teacher at St Damian's High School; I was unaware that the writing of my first full length book was also the time when I first shook hands with my enemy.

Many years later as a mature student undertaking a degree in criminology I was diagnosed with dyslexia. Feeling a mix of self disappointment & realisation. I know now that I can never thank that teacher enough for introducing me to a hobby which assisted in building my confidence around an area where otherwise I would never have belonged.

Achievements: include My beautiful children, My family, My Degree in criminology, My working class background & work ethics & now the self publishing of my books, enabling others to share with me that which as been & always will be a fight: my use of words to release the imaginary world within.

Description

Taliesin Weaver thought that he had saved himself and his friends when he defeated the witch Ceridwen. He was wrong.

He always thought of evil as embodied in external threats that he could overcome in combat. Soon he will discover that the worst evil has been inside of him all along....

Tal’s girlfriend is in a coma for which he holds himself responsible. A close friend, suffering from a past-life memory trauma similar to Tal's, is getting worse, not better. Morgan Le Fay is still lurking around and has an agenda Tal can’t figure out. Supernatural interruptions in his life are becoming more frequent, not less so, despite his expectations. In fact, Tal learns that something about his unique nature amplifies otherworldly forces in ways he never imagined were possible, ways that place at risk everyone close to him.

Tal and his allies must face everything from dead armies to dragons. As soon as they overcome one menace, another one is waiting for them. More people are depending on Tal than ever; he carries burdens few adults could face, let alone a sixteen-year-old like himself. Yet somehow Tal at first manages to handle everything the universe throws at him.

What Tal can’t handle is the discovery that a best friend, almost a brother, betrayed him, damaging Tal’s life beyond repair. For the first time, Tal feels a darkness within him, a darkness which he can only barely control...assuming he wants to. He’s no longer sure. Maybe there is something to be said for revenge, and even more to be said for taking what he wants. After all, he has the power...

Can Tal stop himself before he destroys everyone he has sworn he will protect? Scroll up to buy a copy and find out!

Story Behind The Book

My imagination is never at rest & Bright Lights came about following a concert when I began to question What if? What if the leader of the band had been looking at me? Bands are renowned for attracting groupies, but what if the band member was the one with the obsession. This brought to light the age old question. Can money buy love? but the biggest question of all is, What would you do if this happened to you? Could any woman truly leave her life behind & live that which was once a teenager's fantasy?

A real page turner. As an avid reader of non-fiction this first romantic novel by this author really had me drawn in and wanting to read more. Within these pages of love, romance, glamour and betrayal, the author bought to life a world which for many would be out of reach, transporting the reader along the narrow line between fiction and real life. Bright Lights and Champagne left me wanting more as I did not want the adventure of Jane Carter to end. Hope to see more from this author soon.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful:

5.0 out of 5 stars A moral wrenching dilemma, 20 May 2011

By

Miss Jemma W. I felt drawn in to both the everyday life of Jane Carter & the glamour filled life style of the pop star. Twists were at every turn & I enjoyed how the author had me empathising with even those I would be booing off stage if this were a play. Am now a JO Royston fan & hope there is much more to come.
