Lionel is a very loveable character and it's easy to connect with him. Mr. Hewlett pulls the reader in with events that all kids can relate to, and then helps them to make healthy choices. I can't say that I enjoyed this book as much as the first one (maybe because the introduction of the three-toed potbellied walbaun foot was hard to beat), but it was definitely a good read! Looking forward to the next adventure! </span></span></div><div class="reviewText stacked"><span class="readable"><span><br /></span></span></div><div class="reviewText stacked"><span class="readable"></span><div class="reviewHeader uitext stacked" style="margin-bottom:10px;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;color:#181818;font-size:12px;line-height:18px;text-align:left;"><div class="right" style="float:right;"><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/319082588" class="greyText createdAt" style="color:#aaaaaa;"><br />May 29, 2012</a></div><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/3489102-crystal-marcos" class="user" title="Crystal Marcos" style="color:#666600;font-weight:bold;">Crystal Marcos</a> rated it <img alt="4 of 5 stars false" height="15" src="http://www.goodreads.com/assets/layout/stars/red_star_4_of_5-6e8b1302fa37d95fe007ac5ebe0e2575.png" title="4 of 5 stars, really liked it" width="75" style="border-width:0px;" /></div><div class="reviewText stacked" style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-top:0px;line-height:1.4;color:#181818;font-family:georgia, serif;font-size:12px;text-align:left;"><span class="readable" style="font-size:14px;font-family:Georgia, serif;line-height:1.4;"><span>This book is a great continuation of loveable Lionel’s adventures. This time Lionel convinces his overbearing mother to let him go to summer camp even though she thinks the idea is preposterous. What kid doesn’t want to read about summer camp? Lionel wanted to go because he knew a certain girl was going and of course to have some much needed fun. Despite finding out a neighborhood bully would be attending. He did have fun while he was there and Lionel left camp learning a very valuable lesson. I am looking forward to reading more in this humorous and entertaining series. I would be happy to share these books with my daughter when she is old enough.<br /><br />My review for the first book in the series can be found here:<a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/edit/13447751" style="color:#666600;">http://www.goodreads.com/review/edit/...</a><a class="actionLinkLite" href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13540345-lionel-turns-the-other-cheek#" style="color:#215625;font-family:arial, verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px;">(less)</a></span></span></div><div class="reviewText stacked" style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-top:0px;line-height:1.4;color:#181818;font-family:georgia, serif;font-size:12px;text-align:left;"><span class="readable" style="font-size:14px;font-family:Georgia, serif;line-height:1.4;"><br /></span></div><div class="reviewText stacked" style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-top:0px;line-height:1.4;color:#181818;font-family:georgia, serif;font-size:12px;text-align:left;"><span class="readable" style="font-size:14px;font-family:Georgia, serif;line-height:1.4;"></span><div class="reviewHeader uitext stacked" style="margin-bottom:10px;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;font-size:12px;line-height:18px;"><div class="right" style="float:right;"><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/349223807" class="greyText createdAt" style="color:#aaaaaa;"><br />Jun 15, 2012</a></div><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/5821341-martha-rodriguez" class="user" title="Martha Rodriguez" style="color:#666600;font-weight:bold;">Martha Rodriguez</a> rated it <img alt="5 of 5 stars false" height="15" src="http://www.goodreads.com/assets/layout/stars/red_star_5_of_5-b077799efa74d16662f70ef936ee0c4c.png" title="5 of 5 stars, it was amazing" width="75" style="border-width:0px;" /></div><div class="reviewText stacked" style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-top:0px;line-height:1.4;font-family:georgia, serif;font-size:12px;"><span class="readable" style="font-size:14px;font-family:Georgia, serif;line-height:1.4;"><span>He's back and he's got his Three-Toed-Potbellied Walbaun foot with him. He captures kids, both the nice ones and the mean ones, perfectly and always makes sure that Lionel and all kids reading his books learn valuable lessons about life and how to treat others.<br /><br />It's a great book for children to read on their own but parents, grandparents, teachers, and librarians will also enjoy reading it aloud to the kids.<br /><br />Welcome back, Lionel.
