Description

What happens when a king loses his prowess? The day Henry IV could finally declare he had vanquished his enemies, he threw it all away with an infamous deed. No English king had executed an archbishop before. And divine judgment was quick to follow. Many thought he was struck with leprosy—God's greatest punishment for sinners. From that point on, Henry's health was cursed and he fought doggedly on as his body continued to betray him—reducing this once great warrior to an invalid. Fortunately for England, his heir was ready and eager to take over. But Henry wasn't willing to relinquish what he had worked so hard to preserve. No one was going to take away his royal prerogative—not even Prince Hal. But Henry didn't count on Hal's dauntless nature, which threatened to tear the royal family apart.

Story Behind The Book

Reviews

Readers Favorite
5-star review

This book was so hard for me to put down that I read it straight through right up to the climactic ending. I would be hard pressed as to which of the books in this series I think is the best as they are all excellent, but I think Gypsy’s Game is my favorite. I feel the book can be read as a standalone but for better understanding I feel one needs to read all three. Highly recommended for everyone.

Reviewed by Lynn Fowlston
Read the rest of Lynn's review

Examiner.com
5-star review
Gypsy’s Game reminded me of why I became a writer. Gypsy knows the game's rules. Rules wanting to take her places she has no intention of ever going, but she desperately needs the prize of the game. It's the exceptions to the rules that get Gypsy. Things she didn't expect and which make her spin in circles of questions, disbelief and despair. Then I was reading while eating breakfast & even picked up my Nook to read a couple of paragraphs in Gypsy when a light turned red as I reached it. I’m enjoying it so much, but will hate to see it end. But it’s probably a good thing. I haven’t gotten much done since I first picked up Destiny’s Dream. Get busy, girl! I need more reading material!
Vicki Anslinger, California

Oh, my how I love this book--even the second time around. Yes, I just read Gypsy's Game for the second time, but not the last. This is one of the best books I have ever read. I love the way Jal expresses his love to Gypsy, so like Christ loves us unconditionally. And I love the way the book does not waste a lot of space describing scenery or having characters go on long "thinking journeys". There is so much interaction and dialogue between Jal and Gypsy and the story is so beautiful that I never want it to end. The best of the three in the Solomon's Gate series. Love, love, love it.
