Sophie Mccoy's life changed forever when she became the mum of three beautiful ex-battery hens, rehomed to her by the British Hen Welfare Trust. Far from being 'bird brained', they were intelligent, cheeky, loving animals. Immediately, Sophie decided to raise awareness and money for the BHWT; so far this has involved, amongst other things, climbing three mountains in one day, swapping Stephen Fry a posh hotel stay for his Harry Potter audio boxset, volunteering as a BHWT rehoming coordinator & saving 4000 ex-bats from slaughter and, now, writing a book.
