The stories follow teen assassin Shevata as she travels through history of the city of Gastar to seek redemption for her past actions and to regain her soul. The first, "Act of Redemption" was published in 2009, the second, "Children of Discord" will be available in a few weeks. Story Behind The Book
I gleaned my inspiration from the book's setting. The island, mentioned in the book, was the site of a Civil War Battery during the Battle of Mobile Bay. In the 60's a hermit named, Battleship Pete, lived on it.
I felt this setting, along with an interesting history, would make a fascinating story.
