Henry had no intention of taking the crown for himself; it was given to him by popular acclaim. Alas, it didn't take long to realize that that having the kingship was much less rewarding than striving for it. Only three months after his coronation, Henry IV had to face a rebellion led by Richard's disgruntled favorites. Repressive measures led to more discontent. His own supporters turned against him, demanding more than he could give. The haughty Percies precipitated the Battle of Shrewsbury which nearly cost him the throne—and his life.
To make matters worse, even after Richard II's funeral, the deposed monarch was rumored to be in Scotland, planning his return. The king just wouldn't stay down and malcontents wanted him back.

You are in for a wild ride as you read A Home for Wayward Husbands by Johnee Cherry. The author brings to life such rich, realistic characters that you will believe that you have known them all of your life.
This book contains adult situation, some sexual content, and language but the characters would not be real if these items had been omitted from the book.

Readers are introduced to a small town where each character’s life intertwines with the lives of other town’s people. By consistently moving between the past and the present we learn the history of the character and therefore are able to understand the present and the future.

The main character in the book is Bitzy who seems to be running a boarding house for wayward husbands since they all end up at her house. She attempts to deal with ghosts from her past and tries to decide how to proceed with her future. Every other character in the book is just as rich and believable as Bitzy and readers are anxious to learn what the future holds for them.

I really loved this book because it was so realistic and at times could even feel kindred for Bitzy. Because of the content of the book, it will appeal to readers in multiple genres. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars and can only hope that we see a book 2 sometime in the future.
