About
Raised in California, but now residing in Richmond, Virginia by way of service to the U.S. Air Force (1993-1999), I have been writing and teaching English literature for over fourteen years. I have always loved mystery novels which featured protagonists who had their own demons to fight as they saved the day, so to speak. My novel, Murder on Second Street: The Jackson Ward Murders, is a blend of history and fiction. The plot is set during a very pivotal time in American history: 30 days before the infamous Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929 in the historic neighborhood of Jackson Ward in Richmond, Virginia. My second mystery novel, Sex, Lies & Shoeboxes features a troubled woman detective name Bobbie Vale. Her most recent case is digging up a dark past she preferred remained hidden.
I've also written and directed several award winning full-length and short plays several of which have been performed on Off-Broadway and Off Off Broadway. In 2013, I published my collection of short modern plays, On the Cusp of Humanity.

Story Behind The Book
I love mystery novels (huge fan of Agatha Christie) and ever since I can remember, I've always written some type of mystery story. So, when I was in the Air Force at my permanent station in Hampton, VA, all I could think about was home (Stockton, CA) and I started writing a short story about a female private investigator named Bobbie Vale. She lived in my hometown and had all sorts of emotional issues. So, I started writing it and sharing my updates with my fellow airmen, even naming the antagonist after my favorite staff sergeant, Sgt. Lopez. He loved it!
Reviews

pop_fan2005 ~ From the first paragraph, you will be enthralled! Rebekah Pierce is no amateur to telling stories and "Sex, Lies and Shoeboxes" is no exception.

The story features a female private detective who is hired to track down the fiancee of a some less than desirable client. Jam packed with twists and turns, it's not a pretty story; a feature that unquestionably works for Rebekah. It's gritty, witty and raw. Her storytelling style is as real as they come. You can actually hear her characters speak to you in a way that transcends your already-heightened awareness to the beyond. If you've read anything by Rebekah Pierce before, you know that "beyond" is the only place to be.

The book was delivered on Tuesday. I was finished reading that same night. It was impossible to put down. The ending will leave you speechless and wanting more. Ladies and gentlemen, "Sex Lies and Shoeboxes" is a must-read and should be at the top of your shopping lists (as well as a shoebox or two).
