Story Behind The Book
This is a book my father wrote. It’s a wonderful read. It carries suspense and mystery along a very good plot and story-line. It’s well thought out, and for only $3.99, very much worth your time.
Former English professor David Michael Martin writes his first novel.
Set in the wilderness of Maine
Part one is The Event – May 1973
Three long-time friends, John, Meech and Hoxie, have decided to take a trip for some trout fishing in Maine’s remote Moosehead wilderness.
A confrontation between the three of them and a game warden results in murder.
Part two is The Investigation – May to October 1973
The focus shifts to the town of Greenville impacted by the disappearance of the game warden. He may have run out on his pregnant wife Sarah, but evidence points to the likelihood of foul play.
Part three is The Aftermath – October 1973
John Mason, safe at home in New Jersey, is suffering pangs of conscience over the death of the game warden. He decides to return to Maine to find out what has happened since.
They say that the criminal always returns to the scene of the crime. What will John discover?
The book is titled Winter Soon and is available in PDF for immediate download.

Also has a very accurate depiction of a New England lifestyle.

The book is divided into three parts - the event, the investigation and the aftermath and all three are very exciting but also very insightful when it comes to human psychology. I literally couldn't stop reading and got into the story only after a few pages! The author goes deeper and deeper, keeps you guessing and doesn't reveal all of the secrets right until the end. It is a real page turner and I'd really recommend it to anyone in a search for a good read! 5 stars
