My life in Europe has become weirder than any fiction and so after 9 years of surviving the most inane life threatening situations I have decided to copy my handwritten journals to digital form.  I was never one to stay in one place. I first got the travel bug when our surf band The sea Lords went over to London. We played everywhere and it was a cool thing. We discovered that there was surfing in England. After returning we continued to play gigs up and down the California coast. Our drummer landed a job working for Matt Groening and that inspired me to write animation. That went well and I had a good time. But after awhile I needed a change. I went back to the UK and lived in the small surf town of Newquay. Pronounced 'New key'. I met so many cool people there and my girlfriend. Then I traveled to France to surf. I flew down to a surf town called Biarritz. I got into a taxi at the airport and said 'Victoria surf' please. It was a weird time as I spoke no French. But two older ladies at the sandwich shop  taught me new words and phrases every time I went there for lunch. I ran into plenty of  localism there and it took me about 3 months to prove myself in the waves. After that I was accepted and made loads of friends and we hung out at night and the Newquay pub. Weird huh? Same name as the town on the Cornwall coast. I never thought about going back to the USA, SO boring compared to Europe. I went up to surf the 'pipeline' of France. A town call Hosegore. There I met a Switzerland surfer named Sam Oddermeyer. hHe was cool and had an Australian accent because he was down there surfing.. So we decide to go drinking that night, The town was packed and it was crazy. We were standing at the bar and we see this dude with white long hair and he was doing something funny and I said lets go talk to that dude. His name was Lomax. he lived in Lanzarote but he was British and he surfed, His name is Lomax and he now is one of my best friends. We went back to Switzerland with Sam and surfed a standing wave in this huge river by his house. That was cool. Then Lomax and I went to Jersey Island and surfed there for awhile with some of his mates from uni. That is where jersey milk comes from, not America. SO after that we went to canary Islands and surfed and hung out with his Dad that owned a hotel on Lanzarote. we went back to the UK and got a place and surfed all over and I met some of my best friends there.  cheers, stu
