BAJEERAO PATIL

BAJEERAO PATIL

About

Bajeerao Patil was born and brought up in a joint family system in rural India.  He grew up watching his own family members as well as the majority of villagers drinking homemade alcohol that was extremely addictive.  Widespread alcoholism in this community was a leading cause of personal strife and contributed to cases of extreme poverty, poor health, and untimely deaths.

Bajeerao Patil possesses a wealth of knowledge on the subject of addiction from over 23 years of work as a dual diagnosed counselor.  He specializes in human behavior.  He has a masters degree in social work and a masters in human resources from Mumbai University, India.  He is currently working in a hundred and twenty bed inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He counsels dual diagnosed patients – patients using substances, and those who have severe mental health issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, MDD, PTSD, and anxiety disorder.  He also counsels patients who have extensive criminal background and severe anger issues.

His childhood experiences with alcoholics and his heartfelt desire to help them led him to become a counselor.  Further, his love of writing and his fascination with addictive behavior and his depth of knowledge encouraged him to write on the subject with the hopes of reaching addicts in need.

Bajeerao has conducted group therapy sessions for many years drawing upon the concepts in his proposed book.  In addition, he has a significant presence on Facebook and LinkedIn where he promotes his work.  He has about 10,000 followers on Twitter.  He is affiliated with Drug And Alcohol Testing Industry Association, who published one of his short stories in its yearly publication FOCUS to promote his book.

Additionally, his book about addiction “Insanity Beyond Understanding” was published in 2009 by Eloquent Publication.  This book has been well received in local drug and alcohol rehab centers.  The readers have posted several five star online reviews of “Insanity Beyond Understanding” on Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com.  This is one of the few books on the market that is clinically sound and entertains readers.
