Story Behind The Book
The essence of this book lies in the letters written by Grandpa June to his granddaughter 'Stink Mo'. The knowledge and wisdom contained in his written is what raised her out of a desperate situation to one of success and happiness.
Clinton Leroy Gladden, Jr. or Grandpa June to Dee Dee Gladden was born on September 16, 1929 and die June 8, 2008. He was the eldest son of his Clinton and Viola Gladden who had a total of 11 children. With only a 4th grade education, he had to quit school and go to work.
June's eldest child, Sheila who was born on his birthday, gave birth to her 1st born on June 8, 1966. The relationship between June and his granddaughter was a true love story as he stood in the gap for an absent father and raised Dee Dee to be a vibrant, determined God-fearing young woman.
