Story Behind The Book

A friend of mine asked me, “What was there before time?” This is a tricky question: it’s like asking, “How did God become God?” Of course, I did have a long answer, an answer that necessitates the understanding of my entire philosophy, Holophany. After two hours of explanations, my friend woke up and told me, “Why don’t make me understand what you’re saying with my heart? Write an easily-accessible piece of literary fiction that entertains and delights as much as it challenges, something without your tedious logical reasoning.” Needless to say, I was upset by this rude response to my erudite discourse. At the same time, it was a challenge that kept knocking on the doors and windows of my consciousness, until I surrendered to its creative force: I sat in front of the empty page, my being emptied of my preconceived ideas, and then words started flowing, and an enchanting tale of self-discovery and ultimate power began to be weaved. I was more a witness to its unfoldment than its creator, and only described the captivating symbolism, the beautiful innocence and profundity that I saw. I grew excited and yet, had no idea how I would continue. I was curious. I felt both elated and also in a bliss-like state of tranquility, as if something was growing within me, becoming, and all I did was, let it happen. While writing I laughed and cried, I lived through the personalities of each and every character in the story, which was an extraordinarily enriching experience. The God Maker: How God Became God is the result of this vision.
