About the Author:
Berthony Bien-Aime, RN, BSN, says, “When I first entered the hospital
setting, in spite of their diagnosis or their
dependence on using an oxygen tank, the
patients always tried to find a way to go under
the smoking patio to have a cigarette,” adding,
“In the latter years of
accumulating information
for my book, I noticed that
patients no longer had the
urge to smoke when they
were deathly ill, but
responsive.” He observes
that “the less we smoke, the easier it is to smoke less.” Bien-Aime is a
registered nurse in an intensive care unit and is pursuing a career in medicine.
Born in Montreal, Canada, the author now lives in San Antonio, Texas.
