About

Lee Crompton was born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire in 1973 but has lived the majority of his life on the south coast of England in Dorset.

In his mid-teens, Lee worked packing frozen poultry for Chinese restaurants, moulded sausage meat around scotch eggs in a local factory and wrote depressing poetry. He left school in 1992 and worked as a quantity surveyor whilst studying part-time for his degree. In 1997 he became a Bachelor of Science and took up a full-time position as a surveyor in Salisbury working on various projects throughout the South of England.

Lee quit his job in 2003 to travel the world. Starting in India, he journeyed through Asia, Australasia and the United States before eventually returning to the UK in 2004. Whilst in Wellington Lee was involved in the writing and production of a short film for the New Zealand 48-hour film festival. His travels inspired his second book, Worlds Apart.
